What a product description needs
- A clear title. Say what the item is first, then the most important detail (size, material, scent, style).
- Bullet points for scanners. Most shoppers skim. Put the facts they compare in bullets: size, material, what's included, care.
- A short paragraph for the feeling. Who it's for, where it goes, why it's a good gift.
- Answers to the usual questions: processing time, shipping, personalization, returns. Fewer messages, fewer surprises.
- Natural keywords. Use the words shoppers type, the way a person would say them. Don't stuff.
Shopify vs Etsy: what's different
Etsy
- Titles can be up to 140 characters, but a short, readable title that leads with the main keyword works better for shoppers.
- You get up to 13 tags, each up to 20 characters. Use multi-word phrases shoppers actually search, like "cedar candle", and cover different angles: material, style, occasion, recipient.
- Fill in categories and attributes too; they add search terms without using tags.
Shopify
- The product description lives on your own store, so it can be longer and match your brand voice.
- Fill in the search engine listing: a short SEO title and meta description written for Google results, not just your store.
- Write a unique description for every product. Copying a supplier's text word for word makes your page look like everyone else's.
How to write product descriptions with Agents HQ
- Tell it about your shop once. In About your business: what you sell, materials, processing and shipping times, policies and tone. Every agent uses it.
- Hand off a product. Type the details or attach product photos. Agents on Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini or Grok look at the photos while writing.
- Say where it's going. "Etsy listing with 13 tags" or "Shopify description with SEO title and meta description".
- Review and paste. Copy it into your store, or send it back with notes like "shorter title" or "more giftable".
The Product Copywriter is part of the online store template. If you sell 3D prints, the 3D printing template has a Listing Writer that does the same job. For Etsy-specific tips, see AI Etsy listings.
Need product pictures too? The Image Creator add-on ($4.99, paid once) adds an agent that makes product shots, social posts and flyers, using your own OpenAI or Google account.
What it costs
Agents HQ is a one-time purchase: $49.99 for the first 50 customers, then $79.99. No subscription and no per-listing fee. You connect your own AI key: Google Gemini has a free tier, and Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and DeepSeek are pay-as-you-go, usually a fraction of a cent to a few cents per listing.
